Good and as it's a trilogy it's a good one to get into the story has a way of getting you hooked in. They talk about Darth Bane in the Darth Plagueis book quiet alot so it's a good one to follow it up with and learn.
I've only really been a Star Wars fan for about a year now (so i knew nothing of anything in Legends), and this book is probably better than any of the canon books I've read so far. The amount of insight we get into the dark side, the failings of the Jedi, the Sith's 'grand plan' and the politics post-TPM is so wonderfully done. As someone who really couldn't care much for space battles (and the pointless ones they've insisted on putting in most of the novels I've read), it's refreshing to read a novel that only has the aspects of Star Wars that I like (Jedi/Sith lore and politics) .. It really is a tragedy that this isn't regarded as canon anymore. I hope we get a Dooku or Palpatine novel one day that touches on a lot of the things from this story.
