Although avatars are the mainstay of the IMVU application, they clog the IMVU system. Each avatar requires lots of different image files. Each file component is cached, or hidden away, so when the computer requests the data in the future it can be gathered faster. A large cache can cause the application not to operate correctly or to be slower than normal. Clearing the IMVU cache will remove these unnecessary files from the application. The cache can be cleared in Windows or in the IMVU client.
