- WINDOWS TUTORIAL
- 1. Opening M64.2.zip, you should find three folders: 'PN64 1.6', 'Rom', and 'Super Mario 64 Online 1.2'. Open PN64 1.6.
- 2. In here, open and install Project64.exe. There are some things we now need to set up. From here, go to Options>Settings>Plugins. Make sure a Plugin is in every slot. Next from here, click the Options tab and uncheck 'Pause emulation when window is not active?' as well as 'Hide Advanced Settings'. Now go to the Advanced tab and change 'Default Memory Size' from 4 MB to 8 MB.
- 3. Now back out of the previous menus by hitting 'OK'. Now go to Options>Configure Controller Plugin. Under the Player 1 tab, which is all you should be editing, change 'None' to 'Memory Pak'. Now configure your controls. For reference:
- Analog Stick - Move the character
- B - Punch and Slide
- L and R - Minor Camera Controls
- C-Buttons - Major Camera Controls
- Digital (D-Pad) - Simple Emote actions for the characters
- 4. Now back out of the controls menu after clicking 'OK' to confirm. Go to File>Open Rom. Then navigate to the 'Rom' folder within 'M64.2' and open 'Super Mario 64.z64' just to test that you can run the game. If you can't, check your plugins or redo the process.
- 5. Now go back to 'M64.2' and open the 'Super Mario 64 Online 1.2' folder and open 'SM64O.exe'. This is the online tool that you must use to join a server. When the IP to the server or any server is given out, you must put that IP in the box labeled 'IP Address:'. Keep 'Port:' at 8000 unless otherwise stated. Make sure you select 'Project64' under 'Emulator:' and then select your character in 'Select your Player:'. When everything is done, click 'Connect to server!'.
- 6. Now go back to Project 64 and open Mario 64. Go to the File Select screen, once there, hit go through the Project 64 menus, go to System>Save. Then System>Load. You should now see a 'Logged In' message appear at the bottom left of the screen. Now just click a file, which ever one you are told to, and have fun!
- This one is a bit more complicated. Bare with me and everything should work.
- 1. Download and install:
- WineHQ: https://www.winehq.org/
- WineHQ is required to run a .exe file on Mac and XQuartz is required to run WineHQ. Make sure you download Wine Stable 2.0.2.
- 2. When opening the .exe's. Right click them, click 'Open With', and choose 'Wine Stable 2.0.2'. Continue clicking Ok, don't change any settings that it gives you, and if it asks you to Install something, click Install.
- 3. Follow Windows Tutorial starting at Step 1.
- Note: Audio Plugins may not work on Mac, meaning you will not get Audio. As of now, there is no way to fix this
